OK, it's been found - but those who cannot remember what X Chair looks like - this is the last known image:

 

Our thanks to the Smee committee who diligently tracked down X Chairs hat and returned it safe and sound (albeit a little dirty and travel weary) from its International Tour, all we need now is X Chair!
