Minutes of AGM Nov 2000

MINUTES OF THE SEVENTH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE BARRELHOUSE RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB HELD AT THE SPORTSMAN'S LOUNGE, TUESDAY 21'st NOVEMBER 2000

At 6.42PM, the Members Present called to order the Seventh Annual General Meeting. Chairman Steve Higson declared the meeting open with a minites silence in memory of the club's treasurer bill mcBride who had recently died. After the minutes silence the AGM commenced, with all members charging their glasses in Billy's memory.

APOLOGIES: Genuine Apologies were received from Mr. Everhard, a Frivolous apology was received from Grog stating that he was injured/busy/watching rugby in Ireland etc.

1. The minutes of the Sixth AGM were proposed by Tom Henry and seconded by Steve Blair. They were approved by general agreement.

2. Chairman's Report: The Chairman advised that he was delighted with the turnout for the Billy McBride testimonial and wished all the teams best of luck over the weekend

3. Captains Report: Mark Griffiths forgot to submit a report and was suitably admonished by general jeers.

4. Election Of Officers: Steve Higson as chairman asked for a volunteer to replace Bill McBride, but there were no volunteers on the night the treasurers position was left open. As mark Griffiths was not present, it was proposed by the Fish that Julian Pritchard be elected Captain, this was seconded by Andy Jackson and carried by general acclaim. As there were no other candidates for chairman and secretary they were re-appointed.

5. Any Other Business: There was no other Business.

Steve Higson then declared the lengthy AGM closed at 6.53PM, giving plenty of time for a couple of rounds prior to the Gentlemans Dinner at the Country Club.
